This is a new website as I have again switched hosting companies. Bear with me as I feel my way around all the features and attempt to present my artwork in an easy to see fashion. My capabilities will dictate how successful the front page looks and it will most likely change a lot over the next few weeks while I try out different elements. The store will expand to include a lot of older paintings that I have put on sale and newer work, especially several 3D assemblages. I am having a hard time deciding to part with a few of them which has surprised me because I am not usually like that.
I have rearranged my small studio to accommodate an area to work on assemblages and collage work which often involves sitting so I can focus on details in a more relaxed way. I have to stand when I paint though so that area is in another corner. And then there is a corner for Jemmi to look out the window or snooze while I work. The wall where I have painted so many larger works now is home to a variety of finished works. I like being able to see them and consider the direction it is all going in.
I am loving the cooler weather here in the northeast. It is so much more conducive to creativity than warmer temps that make me feel lazy.
I enjoy painting and making things with my hands. I started painting and selling my art on the web simultaneously in 2003. I love using my imagination and intuition in my painting and other creative work. Frequently my work has been shown in galleries but I prefer spending my time in the studio working and offering the work online. I frequently change things up including my website presentation. Most of my time when not involved in art-making involves my family and Jemmi (our West Highland Terrier), cooking and other domestic activities, and escaping to the beach. This blog is the answer to not having an "about me" page on my website.
